View major news and upcoming events to explore Penang’s thriving key industries.

Penang, August 8,2022 – InvestPenang had a meeting with the US ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Brian D. McFeeters and representatives from the US Embassy in Penang yesterday. The meeting was mainly surrounding on the topics of investment climates, Penang’s industry transformation in moving up the value chain and the supply chain resiliency in Penang. The potential implications of CHIPS Act, the opportunities in the medtech industry and digital economy were also being discussed.

The US has always been one of Penang’s largest investors with a few US companies established their presence here since 1972. As a sustainable site to many US companies, Penang is proud that these companies have deepen their roots over the decades and their activities have evolved from manufacturing to high-value added functions such as research, design & development, engineering, global business services, among others.

Moving forward, the secular trends of advanced technology development as well as growing complexity in the global supply chain open up countless opportunities for the US and Penang to strengthen our collaborative partnership.

Holding on the 50th anniversary celebration tagline, ‘50 Years of Excellence and Beyond’, InvestPenang is looking forward to propelling Penang’s trajectory towards the next frontier of transformation together with the world technology leaders.
