InvestPenang Reveals New Brand Identity
A new look conveys the agency’s evolution as it progresses steadily into the future.
Penang, August 1, 2019 – InvestPenang officially unveiled its new logo to the public today. Launched by the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Mr. Chow Kon Yeow, the new corporate identity reinforces the evolution and expansion of the agency’s services through time since its establishment 15 years ago.
“InvestPenang began with the sole purpose of promoting Penang as an ideal investment location. Today, our role has expanded to also include a growing number of state initiatives in attracting, developing and retaining talents, assisting SMEs to move up the value chain and facilitating the development of the tech start-up community,” explained Dato’ Seri’ Lee Kah Choon, the Special Advisor to the Chief Minister of Penang. “This new logo is a celebration of our evolution and of our enthusiasm and dynamism in embracing what the future holds for InvestPenang and Penang as a whole.”
Even amidst the ever-changing economic climate, the state has delivered a consistently strong performance. In the first quarter of 2019 alone, it has successfully attracted RM8.5 billion of foreign direct investment, making up a whopping 42% of Malaysia’s foreign direct investments for the period.
According to Chow, “Even though InvestPenang’s corporate logo has evolved, its roots and focus remain unchanged, that is to continue promoting Penang as the location of choice for technology, industry and business. The encouraging foreign direct investment figures provide strong evidence that Penang continues to be a preferred destination for high quality investments. Significantly, these investments were expected to create over 10,000 new job opportunities in Q1, 2019 in the state!”
An arrow pointing upwards anchors the letters ‘I’ and ‘N’, symbolising the growth and progression of the agency’s internal strengths in supporting the broader picture of InvestPenang’s goals. The word ‘invest’ is in bold, drawing the eye to the strong fundamentals and key role of the agency. Dark blue, on the other hand, signifies the reliability and professionalism, while the red accent conveys the passion and determination of the people behind InvestPenang.
The new look is also being applied across all collaterals, name cards, streamers, presentation decks and the InvestPenang website, which is currently being revamped . “The newly redesigned website will adopt a more contemporary and streamlined look, with more succinct information and interactive features for easy navigation and enhancing user experience,” added Dato’Seri’Lee
“Our new identity is forward-looking and professional – this is in line with the services and solutions that we offer in our efforts to make Penang a sought after destination as much for locals looking to grow their businesses as for investors from far and wide,” he concluded.
InvestPenang is the Penang State Government’s principal agency for the promotion of investments. Its objectives are to develop and sustain Penang’s economy by enhancing and continuously injecting business activities in the State through foreign and local investments including the spawning of viable new growth centres. To support the realisation of its objectives, InvestPenang also runs initiatives like SMART Centre (to assist SMEs), Penang CAT Centre (to assist talents) and @CAT Penang (to assist start-ups).
