Following Malaysian Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s declaration that the entire country will be on a movement control order starting from 15th June 2021, to deal with the rise in Covid-19 cases, InvestPenang would like to inform that:
• InvestPenang office will be closed from 15th June 2021. Operation will resume when there are further directives from the government.

In regards to guidelines on entry, we have further sought clarifications from NADMA and Immigration Department.

According to NADMA, their guidelines will apply only for

  • Malaysian residents
  • Permanent residents.
  • Reciprocal Green Lane (Singapore Malaysia)

They are allowed to land in Penang airport and be quarantined in Penang.

However, for individuals holding Employment Passes, the Immigration Department guidelines will prevail. They will need to go through the following permitted Malaysia Entry Points:

  1. Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
  2. Immigration Checkpoint, Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI), Johor (Entry by automobile)
  3. Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (2nd Link), Johor (Entry by automobile)
