Vitronic is open for business in Malaysia and South-East Asia
With its grand opening and ribbon-cutting event on March 28, industrial machine vision solutions provider Vitronic is now open for business in Penang.
Vitronic develops innovative systems and customised solutions in the growth industries of industrial automation, logistics automation, and traffic technology.
Alongside Shanghai, China, and Melbourne, Penang is the third location for the owner-managed group of companies in the Asia-Pacific region. The recently established branch in Malaysia will be the latest full-service provider of its services for South-East Asian customers.
In Penang, it customises both hardware and software and carries out tests and trainings. The branch will also take care of installations, commissioning and maintenance work, covering the region across 11 countries. Short response and delivery times are ensured by a 24/7 service offer and an extensive warehouse.
Vitronic already provides logistics automation solutions to Malaysian Post, DHL and FedEx. In addition, it was responsible for the installation of quality inspection systems at JASolar Penang. It is also particularly proud of its 25-year business relationship with BBraun.
To support the growth of its business, Vitronic has plans to create high-value jobs in Penang.
Around 30% of Malaysian university graduates come from the mathematics, informatics, natural science and technology (MINT) subjects, which is an excellent starting point to not only cover corresponding personnel requirements, but also to meet the high customer expectations for the “Made in Germany” brand.
With 35 years of experience, it offers a unique portfolio of systems and software, covering image and sensor-based quality inspection, identification, traffic enforcement and tolling. The customer base include renowned global brands as well as public authorities and ministries.
Vitronic inspection systems significantly contribute to improving quality and efficiency in industrial production, for example in automotive, photovoltaics and pharmaceutical production lines.
In logistics centres and cargo airports worldwide, its Auto-ID solutions provide complete process control and transparency in the identification and processing of shipments, supplying systems for dimensioning, weighing and scanning of codes and handwriting (OCR) inclusive archive systems.
As for the traffic technology sector, Vitronic offers high-performance technologies to ensure increased road safety, namely in speed and red light enforcement, systems for automated number plate reading and road user charging in free-flowing traffic.
Since its establishment in 1984, Vitronic has grown continuously and is currently represented by about 1,000 employees on four continents. It offers support to international customers through its subsidiaries in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, as well as through a global network of sales and service partners. Vitronic systems are designed and manufactured at the company’s headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany.
