PENANG, 19 February 2025 – Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow is on a 6-day investment promotion mission to Japan from 16^th to 22^nd February, organised by InvestPenang. The primary objectives are to renew ties and strengthen relationships with the corporate headquarters of Japanese investors in Penang, encourage the expansion of their Penang sites, and attract new investments.

During the first two days, the Chief Minister and InvestPenang delegates engaged in a series of strategic meetings and site visits in Tokyo with key Japanese corporations including Toray, Pentax Medical, Renesas, Kobelco, Panac, Japan Lifeline and Canon Electronics and Iwata.

The delegation will continue its mission in Kyoto and Kumamoto over the remaining days. Additionally, InvestPenang will participate as an exhibitor at the Kumamoto Industrial Revitalisation Expo on 20^th to 21^st February, where they will also deliver a presentation on investment opportunities in Penang.

This mission underscores Penang’s commitment to fostering strong economic ties with Japan and reinforcing its position as a premier investment destination in the region.
