What is Crowdsourcing?

Crowdsourcing was first coined in 2006, this term essentially refers to tasks and activities that are traditionally outsourced and are now being performed by a group of people or a crowd instead. Tasks are delegated to a sizeable number of people who share similar interests, skills and abilities rather than to an individual or specific company or group only.
