The CEO Speaks : Capitalizing on ASEAN Economic Community (AEC)

This time around investPenang has brought up another round of CEO Speaks that discusses in depth of the ASEAN Economic Community.
The session was delivered by Mr. P. Ravindran, Senior Director of ASEAN Economic Cooperation Division from Ministry of Trade and Industry (MITI). ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is the goal of regional economic integration by 2020 which is has been progressively implemented since the early 1990s. It is expected to commence officially in 2015. In addition to the AEC, the ASEAN Security Community and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community are the other two integral pillars of the envisaged ASEAN Community. All the three pillars are expected to work in tandem in establishing the ASEAN Community in 2020.
This seminar highlighted various key economic and business potentials of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) which will be commencing in 2015. The progress of AEC has lead to greater integration with the global economy through various agreements and cooperation programs creating tremendous business opportunities and investment potentials.
