At BFM’s “The Breakfast Grille” on July 22, Dato’ Loo Lee Lian, CEO of InvestPenang shared about Penang’s strategy in moving up the value chain, aligning with the NationalSemiconductor Strategy, availability of talent pool and initiatives to support local SMEs to be part of the global supply chain.

She also provided glimpse of the upcoming Penang STEM Talent Blueprint to build a sustainable skilled talent pipeline in the state and the “Silicon Design @5km+” initiative comprising 3 major projects – Penang IC Design & Digital Park, Penang Chip Design Academy and Silicon Research & Incubation Space.

Other challenges such as industrial land readiness, water and traffic were also discussed during the session.
