MEDIA STATEMENT BY THE OFFICE OF THE CHIEF MINISTER OF PENANG ON 28th SEPTEMBER 2026 AT KOMTAR, GEORGE TOWN

The Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, will lead an investment and trade mission to the United States from 28 September to 5 October 2026, organised by InvestPenang, the State’s investment promotion agency.

The objectives of the mission are to renew ties and forge relationships with the corporate headquarters of American investors in Penang. This effort aims to encourage the expansion of their Penang sites and attract new investments.

Additionally, the mission seeks to update American companies on Penang’s latest developments, including initiatives – Penang Silicon Design @5km+ and Penang ATE Campus, infrastructure enhancements and policy changes designed to facilitate investments. By enhancing visibility and further promoting Penang as a preferred investment location, the mission also targets potential investors in industries such as semiconductor – including integrated circuit (IC) design, advanced packaging and equipment manufacturing; medical devices; and global business services (GBS).

During the visit, the Chief Minister and InvestPenang delegates will participate in a series of meetings and site visits with the corporate headquarters of American investors. These engagements provide a valuable platform to highlight Penang’s innovation, competitiveness, and long-term vision as a preferred investment destination.

The Chief Minister of Penang, expressed enthusiasm for this investment and trade mission, and looks forward to strengthening relationships with American investors and eagerly anticipates for the positive outcomes resulting from this mission.
