Doing Business with Finland – Advancing Sustainable Technologies

23 May 2025

Team Finland Malaysia wishes to bring to your attention an exciting engagement opportunity with the Finnish sustainable technology companies’ delegation during a visit to Malaysia from 21 to 23 May 2025.

The Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland, Mr Ville Tavio, will be conducting an official visit to Malaysia on 21-23 May, together with over 20 prominent Finnish companies, consisting largely of Government; Investors; Semiconductor Cluster; Data Centre Cluster, including Digitalization, AI, Quantum, IoT; Energy and the Built Environment cluster, including EV, Green Construction and Waste Management.

The visit is centred on the rapidly developing technology sector, which provides some very interesting opportunities for Malaysia-Finland collaboration, ranging from semiconductors and advanced manufacturing to low-carbon construction and smart energy solutions.

WHY Finland?

Finland is a global leader in sustainable advanced technologies across multiple sectors. In semiconductors, Finnish firms focus on energy-efficient microelectronics and new materials like silicon photonics. Data centres in Finland are among the world’s greenest, powered by renewable energy. In digitalization and AI, Finland promotes ethical AI frameworks and specializes in industrial AI solutions, particularly for smart manufacturing and healthcare. Finnish quantum computing initiatives are advancing scalable quantum processors with sustainability in mind. Finland’s IoT sector supports low-power, wide-area networks crucial for smart cities and industries. In energy, Finland pioneers green innovations, from bioenergy and advanced nuclear to world-class wind power. The country is aggressively developing electric vehicle (EV) ecosystems, including sustainable battery production and charging networks. Green construction is emphasized through sustainable building materials and carbon-neutral architecture. Finland is a front-runner in the circular economy, having launched one of the first national roadmaps, and leads in waste management with high recycling rates and advanced waste-to-energy systems, driving a closed-loop economy.

Come and join this curated seminar, supported by InvestPenang, to learn why Finland is not just a technology innovator but also a scale-ready and policy-aligned country for sustainable business collaborator. Opportunities are abundant in piloting, scaling, sourcing and partnering with next-generation sustainable and digital solution providers.
