investPenang director Datuk Seri Lee Kah Choon said with the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, Big Data, artificial intelligence and more, there is a need for more electric components.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a press conference at the SEMI South-East Asia member and industry partners appreciation 2018 event at Olive Tree Hotel, Penang, recently, Lee said that Penang is a promising spot for the electrical and electronics industry as the technology surge brings benefits for the sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe environment is very good due to the competitive foreign exchange,\u201d he explained.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He also urged companies not to be complacent with current success and to continuously upgrade in terms of technology and invest in its resources, for both its human resource and machinery.<\/p>\n

Earlier, International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) sectoral policy principal assistant director Alia Md Saleh spoke about \u2018Industry4WRD: The National Policy on Industry 4.0\u2019.<\/p>\n

SEMI Southeast Asia president Ng Kai Fai delivered a briefing about SEMI, which connects over 2,000 member companies and 1.3 million professionals worldwide to advance the technology and business of electronics manufacturing.<\/p>\n

He urged the 100 guests who attended the appreciation event to attend the upcoming SEMICON Southeast Asia to be held between May 7 and 9, next year at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n
