\u201cWe may not get the approval in 100 days.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, we want to push further so everything can be ready when the plan is tabled before the Federal agency.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything needs be in order at the technical level.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to seek help from the new Finance Minister to help us get due attention from the national leadership,\u201d he said in a press conference in Komtar in Penang yesterday.<\/p>\n

There are three priority projects under the PTMP, namely the LRT, the Penang Island Link (PIL) and the Penang South Reclamation (PSR).<\/p>\n

Chow said the state government had already applied in March 2016 to the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) for conditional approval of the LRT.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has already taken up two years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to follow up with SPAD so this matter can be given priority.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the PIL, we have not completed all the studies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we are waiting for submission for EIA approval.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will take some time but we want to also ensure that delivery partners will focus on completing all the studies so that submission can be made to the Department of Environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe PSR is now being evaluated by the technical committee of the National Physical Planning Council.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will follow up on this and hope to get it tabled at the Cabinet in the shortest time possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On the undersea tunnel and three paired road projects, Chow said two paired roads \u2014 one from Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway to Air Itam and another from Tanjung Bungah to Teluk Bahang \u2014 had already obtained EIA approval.<\/p>\n

Also present was his predecessor and Finance Minister-designate Lim Guan Eng.<\/p>\n
