Launched in conjunction with International Women\u2019s Day 2021, the initiative aims to nurture entrepreneurship in 100 women across the country and in Singapore with free websites or online stores.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s founder and chief executive officer Chan Kee Siak said it would sponsor a total sum amounting to RM350,000 and SGD350,000 in the form of products and services.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past year, the acceleration of digital adoption and shift to e-commerce have allowed for the creation of many new entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

\u201cE-commerce platforms give everyone an equal chance to attain better livelihoods and that is what we want to achieve with \u2018Women Entrepreneurship with Exabytes\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough our years of experience digitalising SMEs, we have seen how simply setting up an online store or website immediately kickstarts entrepreneurial journeys.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur other initiatives including Sama-Sama Digital has also helped many SMEs in Malaysia to take the first step in their digital journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdditionally, we have seen many success stories from our past initiatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cSales increased for many business owners after digitalisation, \u201d said Chan during a virtual launch event.<\/p>\n

\u2018Women Entrepreneurship with Exabytes\u2019 will run throughout March and is open to any woman entrepreneur in Malaysia or Singapore who has a registered business.<\/p>\n

The deadline to apply is March 31.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Penang social development committee chairman Chong Eng, who was present, welcomed the support and hoped more companies would start similar initiatives to provide more opportunities for women in economic development.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis initiative is in line with the state\u2019s 2030 vision to encourage more women in business.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur target is to have 100,000 women owning SMEs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is still a big economic gap between men and women and we wish women to share the power, \u201d she said.<\/p>\n
