Doubles HDI Manufacturing Capacity by Establishing Second Facility in Batu Kawan<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

April 30, 2025 \u2013 Sustio Sdn, Bhd. (Sustio) inaugurated its second operations facility in Batu Kawan, Penang.<\/p>\n

Sustio was established in Penang in May 2022 as a premier manufacturer and supplier of PCBs (printed circuit boards) and substrates for the semiconductor industry. Building on SIMMTECH\u2019s legacy of innovation – with manufacturing facilities in Korea, China, and Japan – Sustio is dedicated to advancing technological excellence while fostering economic growth in local communities.<\/p>\n

Since its inception in Batu Kawan three years ago, Sustio has invested approximately RM750 million to develop Southeast Asia\u2019s first advanced manufacturing facility of its kind. This strategic expansion has generated 1,400 high-value jobs, strengthening Malaysia\u2019s role in the global semiconductor supply chain.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Sustio is poised for further growth with plans tailored for AI-driven applications. The SIMMTECH Group has designs on Sustio Building 3 at its current site and has secured an additional 10 acres of land for Sustio Building 4, signalling a long-term commitment to innovation and expansion in the region.<\/p>\n

YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang stated, \u201cThe SIMMTECH Group\u2019s long-term commitment\u2014evidenced by plans for Sustio Building 3 and an additional 10-acre site for Building 4\u2014signals a bright future for Batu Kawan as a site for advanced electronics manufacturing. .\u201d He added, \u201cAs Penang continues to strengthen its position as the ‘Silicon Valley of the East,’ the State Government remains committed to enhancing infrastructure that supports and complements investor needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her speech, Mrs. Zalina Zainol, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment Development) of Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), congratulated the company, affirming, “Sustio\u2019s bold expansion reflects exactly the kind of forward-thinking ambition we are proud to support in Malaysia.\u00a0 By aligning its strategies with next-generation technologies, especially AI-driven innovations, Sustio is not just growing its business; it is helping to energise and elevate our entire semiconductor ecosystem.<\/p>\n
