The 209,000 square foot office space is designed to\u00a0 host over 1,200 employees and include a state-of-the-art engineering lab space to support semiconductor design<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Penang – <\/strong> August 14, 2025<\/b> <\/strong>\u2013 AMD<\/span> (NASDAQ: AMD) today inaugurated its new state-of-the-art office and engineering lab facility in Bayan Lepas, Penang. This marks a significant milestone in AMD\u2019s commitment to expanding its global business services and engineering presence in Malaysia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new office at GBS by the Sea, spans 209,000 square feet and is designed to support over 1,200 employees. It features open workspaces and state-of-the-art engineering labs to drive advances in semiconductor design.<\/span><\/p>\n

The launch was inaugurated by YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, the Chief Minister of Penang, in the presence of Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Keivan Keshvari, Senior Vice President, Global Operations, AMD and Chuang-Li Khoo, Penang Site Lead, AMD.<\/span><\/p>\n

YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, said, \u201cAs AMD celebrates its over five decades presence in Penang, this milestone stands as a strong testament to Penang\u2019s position as a sustainable and thriving investment destination, where companies not only establish a foothold, but also grow and flourish.\u201d He added, \u201cAs global trends shift rapidly toward frontier technologies such as AI, the Penang State Government, via InvestPenang, remains committed to supporting forward-looking investors like AMD in these transformative fields.\u201d<\/p>\n
